Be Yourself

just-be-yourself

By-Rishika Ghai

Everyone is different
Don’t  judge them by their status symbol
Status it doesn’t matter at all
What matters, what counts, is the inner beauty
And simplicity of a person.
So be what you are.

***

Who you are, your color, your religion
Or from which background you belong
Are immaterial. Don’t copy. Be original
Rich, middle class, lower middle class, or poor
That’s got nothing to do with your soul
So just be what you are.

***

Do not compare
Instead be grateful for what you have
Do not regret
Other person might not even have
What you don’t value but you have.
So just be what you are.

***

Never apologies for something that you didn’t do.
Don’t bend backwards to please others.
Be simple. Love yourself.
Respect yourself.
Value yourself.
And just be what you are.

Roots

Roots; an integral part of a tree
Allowing them to stand upright
Fulfilling all the needs of the tree.

Like a tree everyone need their roots
To stand upright in their lives
We know them as parents.

Fulfilling our need
They prepare us for the race of life.
Without them; we are nothing.

Try to weed out this root from your life
And your life would be not less than
A dead tree whose roots have been destroyed.

Hero of My Life

6-father-and-kids-on-beach

By- Rishika Ghai

You make my dreams as yours
And you fulfil them every waking hour.
You face all the problems in life
But you never tell us.

You have given us more than you have ever had.
Sometimes you may be harsh,
But not because you are bad or
You don’t want us to be happy, but
You just want us to be safe.
Sometimes you are possessive, but
Your love for us is unconditional.
I know there is no end to it.
It will always be like this.

You are my hero
Patience. Perseverance and understanding
Are your strong points.
You have always known what we wanted.

The sacrifices you have made without uttering a word
No father would have ever done.
From getting us ready for school to chasing the school bus
From cooking to watching midnight movies with us
Oh! Papa, you are unique.
From being a deterrence to mums wrath to solving our problems
From buying our school uniform
To accompanying us to the examination hall.
You are always there.

Sleep was never so peaceful
As when I cuddled up to you
Feeling safe relaxed and secure
Our world would be incomplete without you.

Always there for us
You are our invincible hero
